If you have successfully passed through the aptitude tests stage, you will be required to record short (around 2-minutes long) responses relating to two KPMG global behavioural capabilities ‘Makes an Impact’ and ‘Career Motivation’. You will have 3 days to complete this assessment.

Tip: Practice your responses to assess your tone and body language, by recording yourself or standing next to the mirror. Ask your friends how they would perceive you by showing them the video and then make the necessary changes.

Tip: 2 minutes is not a long time, so make sure that your responses are precise and clear! Focus on demonstrating your enthusiasm and motivation to work for KPMG. Prove that your communication skills are outstanding. This is your chance to impress the recruiters. Be creative and original!

Once you’ve passed the KPMG online aptitude tests then you would be submitting your responses to the interview questions in an audio recording format called a “Digital Submission stage”, a shorter version of first interview questions. The Digital Submission questions would be focused on the ‘Career Motivation’ and ‘Making an Impact’ Behavioural capabilities competencies.

In rare instances, you could also be asked to attend first interview at the KPMG office or over the phone based on your Digital Submission responses to KPMG. Competency based interview questions would help the firm matching your skills against KPMG global competencies.

KPMG Digital Submission Interview Details:

As you may have guessed from the name, this is the Digital Submission of the interview questions you will be faced with during the application process. Depending on your audio responses and the service route you choose, you will asked to attend a follow-up interview with KPMG which would either run at KPMG premises or over the telephone. Following are the examples of behavioural questions you will attempt during audio Digital Submission:

Example 1 KPMG Digital Submission Stage:

KPMG BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCY: CAREER MOTIVATION

Tell me about the service line you wish to apply to?

KPMG FOLLOW ON QUESTIONS:

WHAT RESEARCH HAVE YOU CARRIED OUT UNDERSTANDING YOUR CHOSEN SERVICE LINE?
WHAT TASKS WOULD YOU EXPECT TO BE INVOLVED IN YOUR TYPICAL DAY AT KPMG?
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS’ TIME?

Example 2 KPMG Digital Submission Stage:

KPMG BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCY: MAKING AN IMPACT

Tell me what attract you to KPMG?

KPMG FOLLOW ON QUESTIONS:

WHO HAVE YOU MET SO FAR TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOUR CHOSEN SERVICE LINE ENTAILS?
HAVE YOU GIVEN A THOUGHT ON BUSINESS ISSUES IMPACTING UK COMPANIES CROPPING UP FROM BREXIT?
CAN YOU GIVE AN EXAMPLE WHEN YOU PERSUADED SOMEONE TO ACCEPT YOUR IDEAS?

Following on from your audio digital responses, most probably you will be asked to attend an interview. The initial interview can last anywhere from 40 minutes to two hours. A Typical interview at KPMG will last for around 45 minutes on average, in which time you will be asked around 15 initial questions and three follow-up questions for each behavioural competency, leading to a total of roughly 45 questions (15×3). The first interview is generally taken by a KPMG manager, but sometimes by a senior manager. An interviewer will typically be involved in around 20 to 30 interviews per annum. Below are two examples of the types of question you will be facing:
